The Denver Nuggets went 3-1 against the Golden State Warriors in their regular season matchups this 2021-22. There is one thing to remember, though: Draymond Green didn't play in any of those games. That is why Michael Malone is not getting complacent and too overconfident about their chances against the Dubs in the postseason.

Denver can certainly get a boost of confidence from their record against Golden State. The Nuggets totally dominated the Warriors, with Nikola Jokic exploiting their lack of big man depth. However, Malone knows better not to underestimate the Dubs who'll have a healthy Green anchoring their defense.

“He brings a completely different element from what we saw this season, and that’s probably a big part of why we went 3-1 against them. They are a much better team … when Draymond plays,” Malone said ahead of their playoffs series with the Warriors in the first round, per Kendra Andrews of ESPN.

Draymond Green missed a huge chunk of the season's second half because of a back injury. The Warriors struggled mightily in his absence, with defense being the main culprit behind their losses.

With that said, Michael Malone has every reason to be wary now that he's back and healthy with the Dubs. While they still lack depth in the front court, Green and his ability to defend the one to five positions should help Golden State limit Jokic and his productivity.

Not to mention that Stephen Curry is expected to play for the team. And with Klay Thompson picking things up offensively, the Warriors are looking as dangerous as ever.
