If Luke Walton needs to ask a coach for advice regarding the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James, the best person to go to would probably be Golden State Warriors assistant Mike Brown.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach was able to coach a young James as well as guide him to his first NBA Finals at the age of just 22. He's seen James in not only his good but more than likely, most of his bad — as a player in just his first few seasons trying to learn how the NBA works.

Now a Warriors assistant, the former Coach of the Year winner had some sage advice for Walton (a part of the Warriors coaching staff prior to taking the Lakers' head coaching job) as he takes on the role of James' umpteenth coach.

Speaking with The Mercury News' Mark Medina, Brown had nothing but kind words to say about his former player and implied that Walton has nothing to worry about and will be getting a player that is virtually flawless.

“If Luke asks me, I’ll give him my perspective. He’s a fantastic individual and extremely smart basketball player. He knows the game inside and out on both ends of the floor. Luke should feel extremely lucky, blessed and fortunate, like anybody who has had a chance to coach LeBron and be able to work with him. There’s no magic in it. He’s a great guy and you coach him as you see fit. He’ll buy into anything you say. Best of luck to them both, except when they play us.”
