Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors exploded for 42 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Believe it or not, this is the most he's scored against the Cavs whether it's in the regular season or playoffs.

It's a surprising feat at face value. Stephen Curry and the Warriors have had a lot of classic battles with the Cavs. Most of these matchups occurred in the NBA Finals. And as basketball's biggest stage, one would assume that a Curry explosion was bound to happen.

However, this wasn't the case. The Cavs did a decent job in containing Stephen Curry in their Finals duels. Though he did have huge games, the Cavaliers prevented him from going on a scoring rampage. It seemed that stopping Curry was on top of the game plan every night.

But in their 129-105 win on Wednesday, Curry shot 11-of-20 from the field and converted on 9-of-14 from 3-point country. He also had nine rebounds, seven assists, and just one turnover.

Teammate Kevin Durant also had a great game with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. Slowly and surely, the Warriors are trekking back to their old winning ways. As for the Cavs, they appear to be doing just fine by design. Winning isn't part of their agenda this season as they prioritize player development above all.
