Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry may be good, but he's no Sue Bird. At least in the eyes of CarMax, that is.

Starring in a new ad for the used-car retailer, the former MVP hilariously gets trolled when reminded just how much his career accomplishments pale in comparison to those of the WNBA legend.

Thankfully, the Warriors star seemed to take it well.

Since becoming a spokesperson for CarMax earlier this 2021, Stephen Curry has starred in a number of commercials for the company. His spot with Sue Bird, though, is easily his best.

While State Farm has been the gold standard when it comes to making quality ads with NBA talent, thanks to their long-running partnership with Chris Paul, CarMax's skits with the Warriors sharpshooter have quickly risen to become a challenger. Whereas Paul and State Farm rely upon a rotating cast of sidekicks to play off of CP3's “straight man” persona, CarMax has brilliantly come up with a different formula–trolling the good-natured Curry whenever they get a chance.

Whether they are reminding him that he has fewer MVPs than Bird or that no one really knows his name, the 30-second hits have somehow found a way to make the always affable Curry even more likable. For a superstar that has chosen to appear more relatable to fans, eschewing the intense, hyper-competitive persona that stars like Michael Jordan and LeBron James have taken up, the Warriors vet regularly presents himself as the NBA version of the “everyman”.

Considering that the sharpshooting guard has earned over $42 million from endorsements, we'd say the approach has worked out quite well for Curry.
