Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors are considered the favorites against a young Boston Celtics side that will be making their first NBA Finals appearance as a group. Despite this fact, however, Curry is not taking anything for granted.
Speaking about their opponents ahead of Game 1 of the Finals scheduled on Thursday night, the Warriors superstar talked up Boston's dynamic duo in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. He’s had some clutch moments in big games, he’s a problem,” Curry said, via C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Jaylen Brown has obviously shown his scoring ability and he can take over a game and dominate from start to finish. You just have to try to continue to make things tough for them.”
Curry also sang the praises of the Celtics as a unit as the Warriors talisman revealed how much respect they have towards Boston:
“It’s going to be an amazing test,” Curry said. “They have some guys playing at a high level, a very well-rounded team. They have size, and they’ve been battle-tested this playoff run. We like the matchup in terms of just confidence going in knowing that we can win, but there’s obvious respect in terms of what they present as a team.”
