Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry didn't have the best shooting night on Wednesday. The Charlotte Hornets did everything possible to limit his attempts. When I say everything, I mean it.

The defense smothered him all game and even during timeouts, as Hornets guard Cody Martin was determined not to let Curry get a clean looked so he hilariously defended him after the whistle (via @nbashane).

I guess you can say the tactic worked. Curry never really got going, but his teammates had it rolling. He finished the game with only 15 points on 15 attempts. But if you take away one thing, he is good enough to do other things. The two-time MVP almost finished the game with a triple-double in the victory. His final line was 15 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.

The Warriors ran away with this game, defeating the Hornets, 114-92. Hornets forward Miles Bridges led all scorers with 32 points while Warriors guard Jordan Poole fought back with 31 points. Gary Payton II and Damion Lee scored in double digits off the bench and helped secure the win.

It was a total team effort for the Warriors, so slowing down Curry didn't help the Hornets much. It was worth a try and humorous to see during a timeout. Maybe next time they face the Warriors, Poole, Draymond Green, and others will be guarded by Martin and his group during breaks as well.

Stephen Curry and the Warriors face the New Orleans Pelicans for the first time this season on Friday. They will be going for their seventh victory in eight games.
