In Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Finals, Stephen Curry was the human embodiment of this famous tagline: “If you don't like that, you don't like NBA basketball.” In leading the Golden State Warriors to a series tie against the Boston Celtics, the point guard once again reminded the basketball world of his greatness.

The Warriors star's performance on the league's biggest stage had all his peers lighting up Twitter with Steph Curry tweets, from LeBron James to Joel Embiid and NBA legend Magic Johnson:

But Stephen Curry knows that with these highs also come the lows. While nobody can take away the legacy of someone of his stature in an instant, the Warriors star believes that you're only as good as your last game. The praise is just as fleeting and easily forgettable as the criticism. That's what he reportedly told The Athletic's Marcus Thompson.

Via Wosny Lambre on The Bill Simmons Podcast:

We had [Warriors reporter for The Athletic] Marcus Thompson on our show a couple of weeks ago and he was talking about a conversation he had with Steph and he said, “I'm telling Steph like, ‘Dude, you're a made man. Everybody's giving it up to you. Even LeBron is sucking it up to you in public. You're done. You did it. You're a made guy.'

And Marcus said Steph's response was, “All it takes is one flop, and they'll be right back on my ass.”

Stephen Curry has already cemented his place as one of the all-time greats of the game. But the Warriors star isn't resting on his laurels — not when he can still pull off legendary performances like he did in Game 4.
