Steve Kerr has been part of two of the greatest teams in the NBA — the 72-win Chicago Bulls and the 73-win Golden State Warriors. As such, he has been around the most competitive people on the planet. And from his observation, there's a lot of similarities between Draymond Green and Michael Jordan's fire.
Speaking on the 95.7 The Game, Kerr said with Jordan and Green around, you always see and feel the competitive fire — either in actual games in a big arena or in practice with just the team.
“The fiery competitiveness is what’s different.”
“With Michael, with Draymond as a teammate or as a coach, you feel it. You hear it. You see it every day.”
Kerr noted that Jordan was better at ‘hiding' his emotions during tense moments of the game. Green, meanwhile, could easily lose his cool. Warriors fans are well familiar with Green's antics when he doesn't agree with the officials' call. Be as it may, from Kerr's observation, both Green and Jordan play their hearts out.
Kerr has been asked millions of questions regarding Jordan and the Bulls, as well as with his current team. But he has always managed to share new stories and insights for the media and fans to feast and think upon.
Comparisons aside, Kerr's new pieces of information give us some detail into what it's like playing with Jordan or Green behind the curtains. Their demands are high and will never settle for anything less. And that's why they are champions.
