Set your alarms for Tuesday night when the Golden State Warriors visit the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Because unless an alien swoops in on Stephen Curry and steals his internal organs, he will set the new NBA record for most three-pointers made.

But it looks like an alien isn't necessary. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he plans to rest Curry against the Knicks (via The Athletic's Anthony Slater).

Again, just in case you didn't read the caption and you managed to get to this part of this article, just to be perfectly clear, Kerr was only kidding. The Warriors tactician is known for his dry, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. Curry is already used to Kerr's silly machinations, so no, he's not going to be mad. The headline was also just a joke.

The entire Milky Way will throw rocks at Kerr if he makes a WWE-like heel turn and really bench Curry, who's just two three-pointers shy of eclipsing NBA legend Ray Allen. With the way the Knicks have been defending recently, it's safe to assume Curry can drain two shots from long range. Or 22.

The two-time MVP fell short of setting the feat on Monday night in their win over the Indiana Pacers as he shot 5-of-15 from deep. But Stephen Curry said he's just enjoying the moment as he inches closer to another milestone.
