The Golden State Warriors gave an injury update on second-year center James Wiseman Monday afternoon. After suffering a meniscus injury last season that ended his rookie season, he is nearing a return to the court.
Wiseman can now participate in everything in practice besides scrimmaging. After practice, Steve Kerr spoke with the media about Wiseman's return to the Warriors getting closer.
“I think it's just been a gradual improvement over time…This is something that we're obviously taking very seriously and taking very slowly. The good thing is he (James Wiseman) advanced from his individual work to do all the team stuff other than the scrimmaging,” Kerr told ClutchPoints.
Getting Wiseman back on the floor is going to be a big deal for the team. Not just figuratively speaking but also literally. Kevin Looney and Nemanja Bjelica are the tallest players on the Warriors' active roster. They both stand around 6-foot-9, which is undersized for the center position.

Overall, this is excellent news for Wiseman and the Dubs. Jonathan Kuminga just played in his first game of the season, and to get Wiseman to do the same soon is fantastic. It also means the team is getting closer and closer to being full strength, and Klay Thompson would be the last piece. Then the Bay Area will see how good this team could be.
