As a player, Steve Kerr had the privilege of playing alongside some of the greatest ballers this game has ever seen. Now as the coach of the Golden State Warriors, he's also had the same privilege, except that he's now the one calling the shots.

One all-time great Kerr had the pleasure of being teammates with was San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan. Coach Kerr believes that he sees a lot of Duncan in Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. It's not exactly the first comparison that would come to mind when talking about the greatest shooter of all time, but if you hear Kerr's rationale behind it, it's easy to realize how accurate the comparison actually is:

“I call him the short Tim Duncan,” the Warriors coach told Logan Murdock of The Athletic. “He’s very similar to Tim. People wouldn’t realize it because Tim publicly was very quiet. Steph’s more expressive, both as a player and in his life. But they both share this incredible combination of amazing talent and humility. That’s a rare combination.”

In terms of their respective games, Duncan and Curry could not be more different. As the Warriors shot-caller said, their personalities are also quite dissimilar. What they both possess, however, is an innate sense of humility. This is one of the things that made Duncan so amazing and there's no denying that the same can be said of the great Stephen Curry.
