Is Stephen Curry cool with having Kevin Durant return to the Golden State Warriors?

Nobody knows for sure, but even if he is, Curry is not going to do any Kevin Durant recruiting in public. That's for sure.

Recall that the Warriors are fresh off an NBA championship — their fourth in the last eight years. Durant was nowhere near the team when they did it, and many think they won't need him again.

Still, Kevin Durant is Kevin Durant. He is no ordinary player. No matter what anyone says about the great supporting cast the Warriors had, there's no guarantee they'd be favorites to repeat.

Bringing KD back to the fold could change that.

Of course, no Golden State player is actually going to say that out loud, especially not Curry.

Speaking to media at a golf event this past weekend, Curry treaded carefully while discussing the Warriors' future. He wasn't specifically questioned about Durant. Still, he made it obvious he hears the rumors and likes the current state of the Warriors roster.

Looking ahead, even without Durant, a championship core of Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green surrounded by a number of younger players will still be very much in the championship table. Retaining Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole will continue to be crucial alongside the development of guys like center James Wiseman, small forward Jonathan Kuminga, and guard Moses Moody.

The Warriors still have a ton of material to work with, and the price of running it back with KD will entail scattering all those interesting pieces to the wind.

Nobody knows for sure if doing that will be worth it. Nobody on the Warriors' side of things is saying they would want to have KD back.

On the flip side, though, no one is saying they wouldn't. Not even Curry.
