The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder figure once more in a premier matchup. However, tempers flared after this heated moment involving Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony.

With nearly two minutes remaining in the second quarter, Anthony and Durant got tangled up on the court. The latter exerted too much force as he tried to push away the former, who was hounding him. Anthony did not take this well and he returned the favor to Durant, resulting in a heated exchange of words before being separated by teammates.

This only proves that any contest between these two teams will always provide tension-filled moments. Durant was slapped with his 12th technical foul of the season, which puts him four more calls away from an automatic suspension — an early dilemma for the Warriors as Draymond Green is also embattled in that regard.

As of this writing, the Thunder and Warriors are engaged in a close battle. The stakes are high for both teams. On Golden State's part, they are creeping up behind the league-leading Houston Rockets who pulled the rug under them in taking away the overall best record.

Meanwhile, for Oklahoma City, a golden opportunity had just opened up as their close adversaries in the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs are both experiencing their own turmoils involving their best players.

Two or three more wins by the Thunder and they could end up sitting comfortably at the third spot in the Western Conference. Right now, it seems that all of their chemistry issues are things of the past as Paul George and Anthony have both found their niche running alongside Russell Westbrook.

Although the Warriors may appear to be chasing the Rockets, Durant and Green have already stated that they're not losing sleep over the NBA's best regular season record.
