The New England Patriots managed to somehow come out on top of what was undoubtedly the most controversial and entertaining game of the 2017 NFL season. Following a clutch scoring flurry between superstars Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, the Pittsburgh Steelers miraculously found the end zone with what appeared to be a game-winning touchdown reception from tight end Jesse James.

However, due to the NFL's ever-changing catch rule, the call had been reversed, giving the Patriots another chance to defend the end zone. This time, they managed to get the outcome they needed with a clutch play from their secondary.

Prior to the interception, the Steelers veteran quarterback was attempting to go for a fake spike on a slant to wide receiver Eli Rogers. However, the savvy attempt ultimately proved to be the Steelers' downfall, as it was promptly picked off by safety Duron Harmon on the tipped pass.

Needless to say, it was the cherry on top of the most exciting finishing sequence all year.

The Patriots now hold the tiebreaker over the Steelers and are essentially in the driver's seat to host this year's AFC championship. That said, the tide has suddenly turned in favor of New England in assuming both teams wound up playing up to their expectations for the season.
