Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has been in the spotlight lately for a disrespectful comment made by New York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson towards him. However, Anderson should be in the spotlight more for his approach to the game. In an interview with The Athletic, White Sox manager Tony La Russa spoke about Anderson's ‘dedication to winning', delivering an eye-opening take on Anderson.

“He’s exactly what our fans need to see as far as what a person he is and his dedication to winning,” he said. “I was around here long enough to slightly get to know Michael Jordan, he’s got that Michael Jordan desire for his team to compete and play for a championship.

La Russa said that Anderson has the “Michael Jordan desire” to “compete and play for a championship.” It's not the first time that the White Sox manager has made that comparison, waxing poetic about Anderson's game last year while invoking the NBA legend's name.

While La Russa's White Sox have struggled with injuries and limped out of the gate, Anderson has been a big reason why the team has been able to stay afloat.

The star shortstop is batting .365 with five homers, 19 RBI, 23 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 36 games played. Much like Jordan was for the Bulls, Anderson has been the White Sox best player every time he takes the field in 2022.

La Russa and the White Sox are hoping that Anderson's ‘Jordan' mindset can help lead them to a World Series title in 2022.
