The Washington Wizards will be without Bradley Beal for at least the next two games against the Atlanta Hawks due to a left hamstring strain, the team announced Monday morning after a weekend MRI. Beal will be reevaluated on Friday before the Wizards face the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This injury couldn't come at a worse time for Washington. The Wizards are still fighting to secure a spot in the play-in tournament and looked to have a good chance of getting in the 7-8 game before this injury. They're a game behind the eighth-seeded Charlotte Hornets and a half-game ahead of the No. 10 Indiana Pacers. The Chicago Bulls are three games back of the Wizards as they fight to stay alive.

Beal injured the hamstring during his 50-point performance in the overtime victory over the Pacers. Washington pulled out the win in overtime despite Beal sitting out the extra frame.

The star shooting guard has also been locked in a battle for the scoring title with Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors superstar is currently leading the way with 31.9 points per game, while Beal is in second at 31.4 points per game. It's looking like Curry will come out on top, but this thing isn't over just yet.

At this point, the Wizards are hoping to be as cautious as possible with Bradley Beal, but they know they may need him to end the regular season in order to secure that play-in spot. If Washington is somehow able to clinch a spot while he's out, perhaps he sits out a bit longer in order to be 100 percent healthy for that play-in tournament.
