Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal has taken to social media to pen an emotional farewell to John Wall, who was traded to the Houston Rockets for Russell Westbrook.

Beal has never played a season with the Wizards where Wall wasn't on the team, so 2020-21 is going to be very weird for the former Florida Gator.

Over the past year, the media tried to split Bradley Beal and John Wall, and they unfortunately succeeded. However, Beal and Wall were brothers on the Wizards and never had beef with each other.

In fact, Beal credits his rise to stardom to Wall, who was a great mentor to him while he was injured these past two years.

During the 2016-17 season, the Wizards went to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Boston Celtics. That was the best year Wall and Beal played together, and the nation's capital was certain the two stars were going to be a dynamic duo for years to come.

Unfortunately, Wall was bitten by the injury bug following that campaign. He underwent heel surgery during the 2018-19 season after playing through bone spurs for a long time. The former No. 1 overall pick then tore his Achilles tendon after falling at his house.

It's going to be strange to watch Wizards games with Wall no longer being on the court. However, Beal and Co. are certainly excited to bring Westbrook into the fold. The explosive guard was the 2017 MVP and is a walking triple-double.
