Washington Wizards star shooting guard Bradley Beal continues to have zero interest in requesting a trade away from the struggling franchise, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania and Fred Katz. The Wizards also have no interest in trading him.

However, Beal is reportedly “privately frustrated and confused with the perpetual portrayal of his situation.” As many fans and analysts try to speak a Beal trade into existence and take note of his body language during every single game, the Wizards star “feels he’s getting nitpicked for choosing to stay in D.C.”

Beal and the Wizards haven't been to the playoffs since a first-round exit in 2018, so it's only natural to wonder about his future with the franchise. Beal showed his loyalty with a two-year extension prior to last season, but Washington struggled to a dismal 25-47 campaign without John Wall.

The Wizards swapped Wall and Russell Westbrook this past offseason, only to get off to a brutal 4-12 start in 2020-21. Westbrook has dealt with health issues, while COVID-19 also recently tossed a wrench in Washington's season. Starting center Thomas Bryant tearing his ACL was just another setback.

Meanwhile, Beal continues to put up massive numbers as the Wizards rack up losses. He's averaging a league-leading 34.9 points per game and made history last week by becoming the first player in NBA history to lose 10 games in a row while scoring 40 or more points.

Bradley Beal and Co. are hoping their thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Brooklyn Nets will help turn the tide of the season. Westbrook finally looked healthy and poured in 41 points, with Beal scoring 37 of his own.

There's still time to turn around this season, but Washington is going to need a more consistent Westbrook plus better defensive efforts night in and night out to get back in the playoff hunt.
