Chris Bosh drops extremely bold prediction on fate of Wizards’ Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal
For full disclosure, I must reveal that I am a die-hard Washington Wizards fan. But not even I am drinking the Kool-Aid that NBA veteran and soon-to-be Hall of Famer Chris Bosh is on D.C.’s basketball team.
Bosh was interviewed on ESPN’s The Jump about the Wizards’ search for their head coach after reportedly agreeing to part ways with Scott Brooks. But while he was simply asked on whether Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook should have a voice in who they decide to go with, Bosh went a step further and made a shockingly bold prediction – the Wizards could compete for a title.
“I think that the Wizards have what it takes to really compete for a championship. I don’t think it’s any question that with Russ and with Bradley that they have tremendous talent,” claimed the 2-time champion. “I think they need a head coach to come in there and really perform right away. … And I think sometimes their recommendation and their voices, I think they should be heard. They could put themselves in a very strong position, really like I said before, to compete for a championship in my mind. They’re right there.”

That’s some mighty fine praise from a former NBA champion. But Bosh is definitely right that the coach that the Wizards bring in will make a huge difference in how they perform next season. Washington clearly has top-heavy talent. Now it’s just a matter of making sure everything clicks around them.
