At only 27 years of age, Washington Wizards star point guard John Wall etched his name in the franchise's history books by becoming only the fourth player to score at least 10,000 career points.

According to a post on Twitter by Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington, Wall is also the youngest player in Wizards history to accomplish this feat.

The Wizards' official Twitter account also immediately gave Wall a shoutout for such an impressive milestone with the team.

The history-making basket came about halfway through the first quarter when the Wizards were hosting the Orlando Magic at Capital One Arena. With the home team up 18-17 over the visitors, Wall drove to his left against Orlando point guard Elfrid Payton and finished at the hoop with a nifty right-handed layup.

According to Basketball-Reference.com, Wall is indeed just the fourth player in Washington's history to score at least 10,000 points. He still trails the likes of Elvin Hayes (15,551 points), Jeff Malone (11,083) and Wes Unseld (10,624) on the Wizards all-time scoring list.

At the end of the first half of Friday night's game, Washington led 65-63 in a high-scoring affair. Wall, who had 11 points on 5-of-9 shots from the field at that juncture, was second on the team in scoring behind an extraordinary effort from star shooting guard Bradley Beal's 23 points.

The Wizards, who have lost two straight home games over the past week that simply got away from them down the stretch, are in the midst of a five-game home stand before they hit the road for five games afterward.
