Things got a little awkward for Washington Wizards point guard John Wall at his Thanksgiving charity event on Tuesday in Southeast Washington.

While Wall was speaking to the Wizards media, a fan yelled, “don't leave us, man!”

The All-Star point guard has been the subject of trade rumors lately and one report even stated that Wall has requested a trade.

While Wall declined to answer any questions about his future with the Wizards, the former No. 1 overall pick did talk about the love the city of Washington has shown him since 2010.

“Since Day 1 when I stepped here, June 25, this city, these fans ain’t do nothing but show me a lot of love. That’s the same thing I want to give back to them, give my same love back, and that’s what I’m always going to continue to do no matter what goes on,” John Wall said, via the Washington Post.

“We can’t control certain things that happen in life, but one thing I can control is my heart will always be in this city.”

Wall missed the entire 2019-20 season rehabbing his Achilles tear. The 30-year-old has been linked with the Houston Rockets in a potential trade that would send Wall to Clutch City and former MVP Russell Westbrook to the Wizards, though Washington general manager Tommy Sheppard denied those rumors on Monday during his media session with Wizards reporters.

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens with Wall, who averaged 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game for the Wizards during the 2018-19 campaign.
