After four seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kyle Kuzma is turning on a new leaf as part of the Washington Wizards.

By the looks of it, the young forward can't wait to start his new chapter in Washington.

Kuzma was part of the blockbuster trade centered on Russell Westbrook going to the Lakers. Along with Kuzma, the Wizards also acquired Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and the rights to Isaiah Jackson.

Spencer Dinwiddie also went to D.C. as part of the five-team trade to facilitate the 2017 MVP's transfer to Hollywood.

Kyle Kuzma's NBA career has seen its highs and lows. He was named Most Valuable Player in the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League. The former University of Utah stalwart showed immense promise in his first two seasons for the Lakers until his trajectory hit a snag in the succeeding two years.

In spite of all the social media slander, Kuzma still deserves credit for his role in the Lakers' 2019-20 title run. The toxicity of the Twitterverse is hard to shake off, but he seems to be handling the criticisms fairly well.

His move to the Wizards is a necessary one, though. The Lakers desperately need to maximize LeBron James' elite years and Kuzma is one of their top trade assets. The 6-foot-10 forward will get a fresh start in Washington alongside Bradley Beal and Dinwiddie.

Kyle Kuzma still has his best years ahead of him. A new environment may allow him to rekindle the promise he held in his first two years.
