The Washington Wizards' season is in peril after news of a John Wall surgery could keep the star point guard out for the remainder of the season. His backcourt partner, Bradley Beal, appears to be the most desired of the two in a trade scenario — but the Wizards will want a succulent offer to pry him away from the franchise.

According to Rod Beard of The Detroit News, the Wizards could ask for two first-round picks, a young asset and another player in return for Beal — a core composition similar to what the Minnesota Timberwolves wanted for All-Star forward Jimmy Butler.

“That's the ante — just to get put the admin assistant to put the call through.”

Washington is surely setting the bar high for their seventh-year shooting guard, who is having the best scoring season of his career (23.6 points per game), despite struggling with his efficiency from beyond the arc (34 percent).

Most importantly, unlike Wall, Bradley Beal has shown a recent clean bill of health, playing 77 games in 2016-17 and all 82 games last season, as the Wizards clawed to reach the eighth and last playoff spot in the East.

Only three games away from the halfway mark of the season, the Wizards are 15-23 and unlikely to come back from this poor start, especially after losing their All-Star floor general.

Washington could be in selling mode, especially given that Bradley Beal's numbers will only get better with the bulk of the offense resting on his shoulders once again, but they'll carry a steep price in mind for his services once the many teams interested come calling.
