It looks like Russell Westbrook has packed his bags and is now heading back to his hometown of Los Angeles. Multiple reports have confirmed that the Washington Wizards are “engaged” in trade talks with the Los Angeles Lakers for a blockbuster deal centered around Westbrook. The big question now is, how does Bradley Beal feel about potentially losing his backcourt partner in Russ?

The good news for the Wizards is that Beal is reportedly still committed to Washington despite Westbrook's impending move. This report comes via Marcus Thompson of Bleacher Report:

Beal is without a doubt the most important player on the Wizards roster right now, and it is clear that the team is doing everything in their power to keep him in DC. Beal has been heavily linked to a move away from the Capital, but it looks like the Wizards have done a commendable job of fending off any interest in their cornerstone superstar.

Beal and Westbrook formed quite a partnership last season, but the Wizards ultimately ended their campaign in disappointment. It looks like this prolific partnership is going to be short-lived with Westbrook now with one foot out the door.

The Lakers are reportedly sending Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, as well the 22nd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft in exchange for Westbrook. That's quite a haul for the Wizards and it provides them with a number of key pieces they can build around for the coming season.

All in all, it does appear as though Beal has given his blessing to the looming Westbrook trade.
