Wuthering Waves has a release date of May 22, 2024. It is available for download on Google Play, the Apple App Store, and PC via the Epic Games Store and its official PC client. They also announced that the game would have official Mac support at a later date.

Wuthering Waves is an open-world action role-playing gacha game with a huge focus on twitch-based mechanics. That is, players will primarily be dodging and parrying their way through enemies in combat.
Similar to games like Genshin Impact, players can use a variety of attacks while in combat. There's the character's Basic and Heavy Attack, as well as their Resonance Skill and Resonance Liberation. Each character has a different Skill and Liberation, ranging from dealing damage, to healing, and more.
Additionally, as mentioned above, this game puts an emphasis on dodging and parrying attacks. Dodging perfectly allows the player to avoid damage, while also giving the opportunity to counterattack. Parrying, on the other hand, can potentially stun the enemy, at the risk of the player getting hit if mistimed.
As such, in Wuthering Waves, the combat gameplay revolves around knowing when to use Skills and Liberations, as well as learning the enemy's attack patterns to easily dodge and parry their attacks. While it is possible to win fights without doing any of these, they can potentially take a while.
Outside of combat, however, players will find themselves exploring a wide, open world. While exploring, players will be able to find treasures, puzzles, and of course, monsters. Defeating said monsters give materials, as well as the chance to receive an Echo.
Certain enemies have a chance to drop an Echo after being defeated. Players can think of Echoes as Pokemon, something that the player can summon in the game. Some echoes provide combat benefits, such as damaging attacks or healing, while others can help the player during their exploration.
Speaking of exploration, this game also puts an emphasis on movement, giving the player the ability to seamlessly parkour and climb walls (as long as they have stamina). Additionally, the game also gives players a grappling hook, which they can use to pull themselves into the air or across gaps.
Lastly, this game is also a gacha game. Players will have to spend in-game currency to potentially get the characters and weapons that they want. As this is luck-based, players will need to gather a lot of in-game currency to guarantee the arrival of the character or weapon they want.
Thankfully, this game is a little more forgiving. For example, in the Weapon Banners, the player is guaranteed to get the 5-Star weapon from the banner if they pull a 5-star. Additionally, players can also get additional “copies” of a character they already own, even the 5-star ones, from the shop.
This makes it easier and more accessible for players to strengthen the characters they want to strengthen, without having to break the bank.

Wuthering Waves is set in a post-apocalyptic world, following the mysterious catastrophe known as the Lament. The Lament swept the world, wiping out most of humanity, and pushing them to the brink of extinction. Following the Lament, mysterious creatures and monsters started popping up all over the world.
Players take control of Rover, an amnesiac who woke up from a deep slumber. The Rover wakes up to a world where humanity has adapted to the monsters and has started to rebuild civilization. They must travel the world in search of their missing memories.
As the Rover travels, they will meet Resonators: individuals who can resonate with special objects, giving them powers to combat the monsters in the world. The Rover will need their help in their travels, as darkness threatens to take over once more and wipe humanity out.
It is up to the Rover, and the Resonators they meet along the way, to fight back against this evil, and save Humanity from yet another extinction.
