New York Yankees lefty Nestor Cortes has been one of the best feel-good stories of the 2022 season. That's why it's not exactly a surprise to hear other broadcasters and people around the MLB discuss how effective Cortes is with his quirky style of pitching on the mound.

On Thursday night, Twins commentator Jim Kaat started talking about the Yankees star during the broadcast and proceeded to call him “Nestor the Molestor”. He quickly faced backlash for it and Cortes revealed on Friday that Kaat already reached out to him and apologized.

As you can see, the Yankees lefty couldn't care less. It was honestly the internet and media who made a big deal out of it. There is no question it's an inappropriate nickname, but Cortes clearly isn't bothered.

The 27-year-old is putting himself in the AL Cy Young conversation early on, going 5-1 with a 1.50 ERA in 10 starts. He's struck out 68 hitters in 60 innings and was back at it again on Thursday, tossing seven frames of five-hit baseball against the Angels.

Cortes is honestly just such a loveable player and he's already cherished by the Yankees faithful. You also have to appreciate how cool-headed he is with this latest situation.

All good in Nestor Cortes' corner.
