Cyberpunk 2077 is continuing down its digital downward spiral. It hasn't been long since the whole situation regarding older generation ports broke out but CD Projekt Red has a new fire to put out. Players report that playing your game for too long can cause problems. The issue specifically allegedly stems from the save file breaching a certain capacity which causes all sorts of headaches.

One Redditor documented his experience with his Cyberpunk 2077 campaign and it does not bode well for the title. The file will allegedly take anywhere from 30 seconds to one minute to load if the save file becomes larger than 6MB. The real issue is when it goes past 8MB. Players' precious save file could be completely corrupted until CDPR adds a fix.

CDPR has stated that unfortunately, there is no way to recover a Save file after it has been corrupted. The developer strongly suggests using an older file and “keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials.” The company made no promises but hinted that a save file size limit “might be increased in one of the future patches.” There are no promises from the game makers to fix this glaring issue which is highly insulting to its player-base.

CD Projekt Red has promised to release two massive patches for Cyberpunk 2077 in January and February 2021. Hopefully, CDPR gets right on fixing these glaring issues before the near-decade-long hype around the game dies out completely due to their neglect and lack of action. The game developers approached the release of Cyberpunk with a stellar reputation. CDPR effectively marred its own image with their lackluster approach to the many problems of the title.
