New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has been garnering a lot of attention since his days at Spartanburg Day School, often getting the crowd pumped with his electrifying dunks and posterizers.

All of this transcended all the way through his one-year stay in Duke under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. During his one-and-done season, he put up averages of 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks a contest.

It was no secret that Zion would eventually go No. 1 in the 2019 NBA draft, with monstrous hype involved when he was being compared to the likes of LeBron James as the next in line to the throne.

Zion Williamson

His rookie season at New Orleans stirred a lot of controversy about his health and ability to keep up on an NBA court due to his size and frame. He missed a total of 48 games in his first year, sitting out the start of the campaign because of a torn meniscus injury.

Entering Year 2 would seem like a redemption year for Zion to finally prove his worth as the franchise player that the Pelicans need to build around, and he is rightfully doing so.

In fact, Williamson got a nod at the All-Star game where he played alongside superstars Kawhi Leonard, Joel Embiid and James Harden. He has also led the young Pelicans so far as they remain in contention for the play-in tournament to make it to the 2021 playoffs.

Alongside his statistical increase, Zion is also looking more comfortable out there with his body. Topping 285 pounds, he really is the first of his kind to run and play like a guard with the body of a big. He has been easily bullying opponents, getting and soaring inside the paint whenever he wants to.

Accompanied by all of these factors, the price boost of his sought-after rookie cards soon followed suit. Even though the market is currently down pertaining to modern cards, such as Prizm and Optic, Zion has been one of the exceptions to this case as he continues to be one of the best choices to collect or invest in.,

For what it's worth, a Zion Williamson PSA 8 National Treasures rookie patch auto /99 just sold for $104,600 on auction last February. Moreover, the most recent raw listing of the same card ended at $93,000 in another auction.
