Chelsea just broke the bank to secure the signing of former player Romelu Lukaku, who has emerged as one of the most complete strikers in the world across the last two seasons with Inter Milan.

However, the Blues are clearly receiving some hate for splashing the cash in the last two summers on new players. Zlatan Ibrahimovic spoke on the club's activity in the transfer market and had a very strong opinion on why Chelsea has enjoyed so much success over the last 12 months, per Purely Football:

Hey Zlatan, did you forget that you played for PSG? One of the richest teams in world football? The Swede doesn't really have a leg to stand on with his comments, but yes, Chelsea has spent a lot of money.

They brought in Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech last year while sacking Frank Lampard in January. Thomas Tuchel came in and made a huge difference, guiding the Premier League giants to a top-four finish and their first Champions League title since 2012.

Maybe Ibrahimovic is bitter that Chelsea has never seriously pursued his talents? Who knows. It could also come down to the fact that he and Lukaku have bad blood after almost throwing hands last term in the Milan Derby.

Nevertheless, Chelsea has built a strong squad and they won't care what Ibra has to say. The side will strictly be focused on competing in Europe and vying for a PL title. Hopefully, Lukaku can help them do so and continue to score goals at a high rate.
