The 2020-21 NBA season is expected to be pushed back even further than expected, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

The NBA and NBPA have agreed to push back key dates as the 2020 playoffs continue at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and his team have done a terrific job setting up the Disney bubble.

With that said, odds are Silver and Co. will figure out an optimal date to begin the 2020-21 season. Players need the appropriate amount of rest after the playoffs end before starting another grueling season.

The 2020-21 season will likely take place in a bubble since the coronavirus is still plaguing the United States. The Walt Disney bubble has worked perfectly, as there have been zero positive COVID-19 tests since the games started in late July.

To that end, National Basketball Players Association executive director Michele Roberts talked about how next season may need to be in a bubble back in July, per ESPN:

“If tomorrow looks like today, I don’t know how we say we can do it differently,” Roberts said.

“If tomorrow looks like today, and today we all acknowledge — and this is not Michele talking, this is the league, together with the PA and our respective experts saying, ‘This is the way to do it’ — then that’s going to have to be the way to do it.”

Only time will tell when the 2020-21 season will start. Expect Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star and NBPA president Chris Paul to have a big say in it since he’s the voice for the players.
