After all the action in Pebble Beach last week, the 2020-21 PGA Tour resumes this Thursday, with the start of the 2021 Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. All eyes will be on Dustin Johnson, who is the betting odds favorite for this event. Johnson will make his first appearance on the Tour since finishing with a T11 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
Johnson has made just four starts so far this season, but he's performed great in all of those events. That includes his record-setting performance at the 2020 Masters Tournament back in November. It's not hard to see why Johnson is the top favorite to end up with a victory on Sunday. For one, Johnson is the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world right now. In addition, he's also this season's leader in scoring average (68.288). That's not to mention that he's made the top 10 in 13 career starts at the Riviera Country Club, including his win there in 2017.
Others in contention for the biggest cut of the $9.3 million total purse at the Genesis Invitational are Rory McIlroy, John Rahm, and the tournament's defending champion, Adam Scott.
