Even if they are playing in their home stadium, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter Super Bowl 55 as the underdogs against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

But Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, a furniture store owner from Houston, believes that the Buccaneers can pull off the upset. In fact, he believes in them so much that he was willing to place the largest wager in Super Bowl 55 and one of the largest in the game’s history.

McIngvale, who is known for making large sports bets, made another one on Wednesday, placing $3.46 million on Tampa Bay at +3.5. According to ESPN’s David Purdum, he made the bet in Colorado Springs on the DraftKings mobile betting app. McIngvale could win as much as $2.72 million if the Bucs cover the spread.

“Tampa Bay is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and led by the greatest football player of all time in Tom Brady, so I'm betting big on the Bucs who have overcome tough matchups throughout this postseason,” McIngvale said, according to a release from DraftKings.

He is no stranger to making big bets, as he previously placed a $3.5 million futures bet on the Houston Astros in the 2019 World Series, which they lost in seven games to the Washington Nationals. McIngvale has even included a promo as part of Super Bowl 55, as customers who spent more than $3,000 on a new mattress will get their money back if the Buccaneers defeat the Chiefs.

Aside from McIngvale, the second-largest bet placed in Super Bowl 55 was a $2.3 million wager on the Buccaneers that was made with BetMGM in Nevada.
