The NBA's 2022 free agency period figures to be an active one, with the likes of Bradley Beal, Zach LaVine and James Harden potentially available in certain scenarios. While there could ultimately be more movement on the trade market, teams will still look to fill in the gaps on their depth charts through free agent deals.

There are several solid veterans available, particularly in the center market. One such player, Brooklyn Nets big man Andre Drummond, should have some contenders eying him during the free agency period.

A strong rebounder and capable defender, Drummond is the ideal starter or cheap backup for teams. But which teams would be the best fit for the free agent big man?

That's what we'll discuss here. Without further ado, here are the three best destinations for Andre Drummond in the NBA's free agency period.

3 Best Destinations For Andre Drummond in NBA Free Agency

3. Philadelphia 76ers

This would be a reunion for Andre Drummond, who was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Brooklyn Nets at the deadline in a blockbuster deal involving James Harden and Ben Simmons.

Drummond was one of the Sixers' best signings of last year's offseason, as he helped solidify the backup center position, an especially important one in Philly given Joel Embiid's sketchy medical history.

The 28-year-old big man thrived in the role, averaging 6.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks in just 18.4 minutes per game. Drummond proved to be a capable starter when Embiid entered the league's health and safety protocols during the regular season.

The backup center spot immediately became a need once again following Drummond's departure. If his desired salary ends up being close to last year's $2.4 million per year mark, the Sixers should jump on that opportunity.

2. Miami Heat

The Heat's lack of size was a problem all year long, as they ranked just 22nd out of 30 teams in their rebounding per game numbers. Backup center Dewayne Dedmon is a free agent, though he's on the wrong side of 30 and not the force in the paint that the Heat could surely use.

Enter Drummond. The 6-10, 279-pound big man would give Miami some legitimate size off the bench behind Bam Adebayo. Given Adebayo's stardom, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Heat to splurge on a backup big man.

A two-time All-Star and four-time rebounding champ, Drummond is a clear upgrade over Dedmon. The Heat must consider him during the free agency period to beef up down low.

1. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have been linked to Utah Jazz star Rudy Gobert. That's undoubtedly the best-case scenario for the Bulls at the center spot, though it all depends on what Chicago has to give up.

The Bulls might just be better off running things back with Nikola Vucevic as the starter, but with a better backup behind him. Incumbent backup Tristan Thompson is a free agent, meaning Chicago will have an opening in the depth chart behind Vucevic.

The NBA's third-worst rebounding team, Chicago can address that weakness by signing Drummond during the NBA's free agency period.
