2022 NFL free agency is almost underway, and Orlando Brown Jr. will be one of the best offensive linemen on the market.
Last offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs traded for Brown, and he had an excellent season for them. He has made it to three Pro Bowls in just four seasons.
He will get a lot of interest from numerous teams as a great offensive tackle. The 25-year-old would be a good investment, as he is an established talent and can be elite for years to come.
Orlando Brown Jr. Free Agency Landing Spots
The Chicago Bears had a disappointing season, missing the playoffs at 6-11. Last offseason, the Bears traded up to draft quarterback Justin Fields with the 11th overall pick. While he struggled at times, he showed flashes of his talent.
Fields threw for 1,870 yards along with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He had a low completion percentage at 58.9% and went 2-8 in his 10 starts, so he needs to improve drastically.
While it was a rough season, he has the potential to be a star. In the 12 games he played, Fields was sacked 36 times. Ensuring his protection is a necessary step to allow him to fully develop.
Orlando Brown Jr. would be a significant upgrade, as Chicago lacks a strong offensive line. He would give them a solidified star lineman and instantly improve their blocking. Chicago hired Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy to be their offensive coordinator and is ready to build around Fields.

“We've got to dive into what everybody does best, right?” Getsy said. “It starts with the quarterback. This is a quarterback-driven offense. The things the quarterback position does well, that's gonna be the driver of who we are.”
Brown has been in offenses that feature a star quarterback, playing with Lamar Jackson on the Baltimore Ravens and Patrick Mahomes with the Chiefs. His pass protection would give Fields time in the pocket to deliver passes downfield, which makes him an excellent fit for this Bears offense.
The Cincinnati Bengals made a shocking run to the Super Bowl, jumping ahead of schedule in their rebuild. Quarterback Joe Burrow was in his second season and coming off a devastating injury in his rookie campaign.
However, Burrow rose to the occasion and emerged as a superstar. Although the Bengals' offense was electric, the offensive line was weak. Burrow was sacked 70 times in the regular season and postseason, which was the third-most ever.
Signing a franchise tackle would help Cincinnati have an even better shot at making it back to the Super Bowl. Orlando Brown Jr.'s ability to hit second-level blocks would help the Bengals in the screen game. Cincinnati's offense runs a ton of quick screens to their running backs and wide receivers. Brown's versatility would give them better blocking downfield, leading to bigger plays.
While it wouldn't fix their entire line, it would be a good start.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs fell short in the AFC Championship Game against the Bengals. With Patrick Mahomes at quarterback and a ton of talent around him, every year is championship or bust. This is why it was a disappointing finish for them, and they will need to improve to get through the tough AFC.
The Chiefs gave up multiple draft picks for Orlando Brown Jr., including a first-round pick. Sticking around is the best option for Brown, as he knows the system and would bring continuity.
Re-signing with Kansas City would allow him to compete for Super Bowl titles for seasons to come. The question is, how much will the Chiefs pay Brown, and how long of a contract do they want to give him.? While he is an elite offensive tackle, Kansas City has another key free agent in Tyrann Mathieu.
They may need to pick between the two, which would be difficult, but Brown would be a good selection.
Orlando Brown Jr. will have multiple options in free agency, but ultimately he should heavily consider staying with the Chiefs or at least sign with another contender.
