The Kansas City Chiefs just won the Super Bowl, and heading into 2020, they are the clear favorites to repeat as NFL champions.

But just like any other team, the Chiefs do have some question marks.

Yes, Kansas City has the best player in football in Patrick Mahomes and a plethora of offensive weapons. Heck, its defense has even gotten better.

Still, there are some questions for the Chiefs going into next season.

Here are three of them:

3. Will there be complacency?

Kansas City is the obvious favorite to win the AFC West division title. Not only is it coming off of a championship, but the rest of the division doesn't offer much competition.

The Los Angeles Chargers went 5-11 in 2019 and will likely be starting a rookie quarterback. The Las Vegas Raiders are thin in proven weapons. As for the Denver Broncos, the jury is still out on Drew Lock in spite of his impressive five-game stretch to end this past season.

So given how much further ahead the Chiefs are than anyone else in the AFC West, is complacency a potential issue?

You would think not, because, for the most part, this Kansas City squad is relatively young, and Mahomes and Co. are surely hungry to repeat.

But let's remember that the Chiefs even went through some midseason doldrums in 2019 and were actually 6-4 at one point before rattling off six straight wins.

2. Will Chris Jones' contract situation cast a dark cloud over the team?

The Chiefs slapped a franchise tag on defensive lineman Chris Jones back in March, and he was none too pleased. The two sides have until July to reach a long-term deal, but if they don't, Jones will be playing out 2020 on a one-year deal.

Jones is probably the best player on Kansas City's defense and just made his first Pro Bowl this past season, and given how shaky the Chiefs' defense was up until very recently, the club can ill afford to lose him.

The thing is, Kansas City also needs to lock up Mahomes, so general manager Brett Veach is likely more focused on his quarterback than Jones at the moment.

Hopefully for the Chiefs, Jones will make it through next season with no issues, but by now, we know how these situations can work. It's possible that things go south, which would be very bad news for Kansas City's defensive front.

1. Who will be the No. 1 running back?

Damien Williams was prepared to enter 2019 as the Chiefs' featured back, but shortly before the regular season began, Kansas City signed LeSean McCoy, an indication that it wasn't too confident in Williams as the starter.

Injuries limited Williams to just 11 games during the year, but he was big-time in the playoffs and racked up 104 yards and a couple of touchdowns (one as a receiver) in the Super Bowl.

McCoy is gone, but the Chiefs just took LSU halfback Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the second round of the draft, so obviously, they still feel that Williams is more of a platoon guy than anything else.

Some feel that Kansas City will ultimately end up giving Edwards-Helaire the bulk of the carries, so it will certainly be interesting to see how Andy Reid and Co. handle the ground game in 2020.
