The Memphis Grizzlies are going to have some very interesting moves to make at the trade deadline and for the rest of the season. They are one of the most fun teams in all of basketball because of the style of play that they are playing and they have a bunch of young guys who play with a chip on their shoulder.

Memphis has had many players step up this season but it would be hard to ignore what Ja Morant and Desmond Bane have been able to do for this team. They have both exceeded this season and have certainly improved from a year ago. Both of them were already playing at a high-level last year, but what they are doing this year is special and they have helped this Grizzlies team be as good as they are.

Memphis isn't necessarily in a win-now situation even if they are playing this high level of basketball because of how young they all are. This team is going to be very good for many years to come and they can't just go all in this season because of their recent success. They have to keep in mind that they are only going to keep finding success if they have a good locker room and have a lot of fun playing together just like they are now.

Let's take a look at three mistakes the Grizzlies must avoid in order to continue proving people wrong and potentially make some noise in the Western Conference playoffs.

Grizzlies Must Avoids 2022

3. Don't get over their heads

The biggest mistake that this Memphis Grizzlies team can make is getting over their heads and thinking they are better than what they actually are. This isn't taking anything away from the Grizzlies because they are certainly a great team and have a lot of young and exciting pieces who are going to be very good NBA players in the future and already are.

They do have to realize that the Western Conference is not going to be easy to get through. If they do want to potentially shock the world and get to an NBA Finals, they're going to have to do so by taking down some big-time teams. They will have to go through the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, and they always have to worry about LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers just because he is on that team.

They've been playing great basketball as of late but they need to continue working hard and playing with some extra fire just like they have been throughout this big winning streak.

2. Be very smart with the roster

The Grizzlies are a great team and certainly have a bunch of talent on the roster. There's obviously a case that they could come in and bring a second Superstar pair next to Ja Morant and that could put them over the edge. What Memphis does have to factor in is that they have many valuable role players and giving some of those guys up for another star might not be the best option for this team.

It's tough to tell if the Grizzlies do have enough star power to win in the playoffs because usually, teams with only one star don't succeed. We haven't seen many teams who have a lot of role pieces like the Grizzlies so they could be different than other teams with just one star.

It will be interesting to see what moves the Grizzlies do decide to make at the trade deadline. They do need to be very cautious because that team has a lot of fun together and any little move could mess up the chemistry which could lead to some downplay and that's the last thing that they want to happen.

1. Continue being the underdog

If the Grizzlies are going to want to succeed for the rest of 2022 and potentially make some noise in the playoffs, they need to have that same underdog mentality that they have had all season long. Their guys all play with a chip on their shoulder because they believe that they are better than what the media says and quite frankly, they are probably right. Guys like Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, Ja Morant, and many others are all better than what the national media gives them credit for and that's a reason why they are as good as they are.

They came into the season as underdogs in the Western Conference but have proven right away that they are clearly here to stay and that they can make a lot of noise if they can continue to play good basketball and just stay healthy. It's not going to be easy for them to get through the Western Conference, but if they continue playing with that passion and fire that they have been playing with, they will find a lot of success.
