The New York Jets decided to make Le'Veon Bell one of the highest-paid running backs in the NFL. Although, the relationship between the Jets organization and Bell may become dicey moving forward.

According to John Clayton of ESPN, the Jets may try to trade Bell before he even plays a down with the franchise. In addition, it seems like Adam Gase was wary of signing Bell while Mike Maccagnan wanted him.

Of course, Maccagnan was fired recently, leaving Gase to be the interim GM. Therefore, Gase could rid of Bell since he never wanted the All-Pro running back in the first place.

It's an awkward situation between the head coach and his star running back. Their relationship is going to be hard to repair moving forward. Therefore, the Jets should definitely consider trading Bell, even if it doesn't make a ton of sense.

The Jets put themselves in a rough spot after it seemed like they were finally turning the corner of becoming a talented team.

Here are three reasons why the Jets should trade Bell before the 2019 season.

3. Rids of Bell's Contract

The Jets signed Bell to a four-year, $52.5 million contract this offseason. If New York was able to find a suitor, they could avoid taking the cap-hit of Bell in the upcoming seasons.

Although, they will likely need to pay a majority of his salary in the first season if he was traded. It's hard to justify paying nearly $10 million to a running back when he is turning 30 years old.

Also, it doesn't help that Bell has had injury issues in his career. Bell is still one of the best running backs in the NFL so that's one of the reasons why they wouldn't look to trade Bell.

Ridding of Bell's contract could eventually help the Jets build their roster to being a more well-rounded one. Instead, they spent a majority of their money on Bell and C.J. Mosley this offseason.

2. Awkward Locker Room

This situation undoubtedly will be a constant topic within the locker room. Especially, if the Jets don't find ways to win games early in the season.

There's added pressure this season in Gase's first season as the head coach in New York. Bell adds to that and this situation adds even more fuel to the fire.

Furthermore, there could become a torn locker room with players siding with Bell or Gase. If it comes to that then the Jets are going to have a very long season in 2019.

They'll be dominating the headlines in the NFL in 2019 but not for the right reasons. Kind of like how the Pittsburgh Steelers were last season with Bell on their roster.

1. Irreparable Relationship Between Gase/Bell

The relationship between Gase and Bell seems to have taken a terrible turn for the worst. After firing Maccagan as their GM, it was reported that Gase wasn't on board with signing Bell like the rest of the organization was.

Now, Gase and Bell are forced to make things work like a couple who doesn't love each other anymore. The Jets may come to a point where they will have to decide between either Gase or Bell.

New York can avoid that happening by trading Bell to another team. Although, the Jets could be better off keeping Bell instead of Gase as head coach.

Nonetheless, if things continue to spiral downward between their newly signed running back and Gasem, someone has to go. If not, the Jets will begin to be torn apart from within.
