San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy has been quite a story in the 2022 NFL season. With Purdy playing like a savvy veteran as the Niners' starter under center, San Francisco has managed to keep its Super Bowl dreams alive despite losing their top two quarterbacks to injuries in the regular season. Just as amazed by Purdy's surprising rise from relative anonymity to being front and center of San Francisco's playoff run is 49ers linebacker Fred Warner.

The 26-year-old Warner, recently guested on an episode of The Rich Eisen Show and spoke highly of Brock Purdy (h/t David Bonilla of 49ers Web Zone).

“I think that was the moment when everybody knew he could do it,” Warner told Eisen on Tuesday. “He can hold his own and be the guy, and he's been that all along. I can't talk about the poise and how incredible of a piece he's been for us because he had to obviously prove he's capable of leading us to where we are now. And he's done that.

Ever since Brock Purdy took over the starting quarterback role for the 49ers following the foot injury of Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 13's home win against the Miami Dolphins, the 49ers have not lost a game. Including that Dolphins game, the 49ers have gone 8-0. Purdy and the 49ers have no plans of slowing down. They will get their toughest test of the season to date this coming Sunday when they play Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia Eagles on the road for the NFC title — and the ticket to the Super Bowl.
