The NFL regular season is just two weeks away from today, which means that fantasy football season is upon us. On Thursday, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle assured his fantasy football owners that he'll be ready for the start of the season.

Kittle missed the past week of practices with the 49ers due to a calf injury that was described as ‘calf tightness.' The 49ers pass-catcher returned to practice on Thursday—to the relief of his fantasy owners.

Last season, Kittle flashed his star potential as he caught 88 passes for 1,377 yards and five touchdowns. In a season where he was five-yards shy of breaking the single-game yards record for a tight end; Kittle broke the single-season record for yards by a tight end.

As for fantasy football, Kittle ranked second among tight ends in fantasy points with 170.7 in 2018. The only tight end who accumulated more fantasy points was Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.

After the 2018 season completed, many began to consider Kittle one of the best players at his position in the NFL.

As he enters his third season in the NFL, Kittle is ready to play an even larger role in the offense than he did last year. With the return of Jimmy Garoppolo in 2019, that could become a reality rather quickly.

The 49ers franchise quarterback returns to the team in 2019 after tearing his ACL in their Week 3 bout against the Chiefs in 2018. However, Kittle and Garoppolo will need to build their chemistry back before they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 8th.
