Nick Bosa was never shy about his love for president Donald Trump and often criticized Colin Kaepernick, but he has decided to stop because he could be drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. Last year Bosa called Kaepernick a “clown” for kneeling during the National Anthem, and although he eventually deleted the tweet, he did get a lot of criticism for speaking out negatively on the issue.

Kevin Van Valkenburg of ESPN interviewed Bosa heading into the NFL Draft, and the projected top pick said that he had no choice but to stop tweeting about politics.

“I had to,” Bosa said. “There is a chance I might end up in San Francisco.”

Kaepernick played for the 49ers and San Francisco is one of the most liberal cities in the world, so it's probably a smart choice to stop putting politics on Twitter, especially when many in San Francisco don't agree with his views.

The 49ers currently hold the second pick in the draft, and many pundits believe that if Kyler Murray does go first overall to the Arizona Cardinals, Bosa will be the pick at two.

If the Cardinals decide to go with Bosa or the 49ers decide to go in a different direction, it will be interesting if Bosa decides to go back to Twitter and start talking about politics again. It's clear that he has strong feelings, but right now he is putting his football career first.

Who knows, maybe when he retires he will run for office and try to follow in President Trump's footsteps.
