The San Francisco 49ers punched the Los Angeles Rams in the mouth to start their primetime showdown on Sunday Night Football. To no surprise, tight end George Kittle found a way to make his presence felt.

Kittle somehow managed to turn a fourth-down conversion into a 44-yard touchdown to extend the lead for the 49ers, via NFL Twitter:

Plays like this are indicative of why the 49ers star is widely considered to be the best tight end in the NFL. His size and route-running ability make him a matchup nightmare for most defenders, and he is even more difficult to bring down after the catch.

The Rams were well aware they would have their work cut out trying to keep a pass-catcher of George Kittle's caliber contained. The slow start from their own offense has only magnified their struggles in the first half.
