Who will Will Ospreay wrestle at Forbidden Door? This has been a question plaguing wrestling fans since the leader of the United Empire made his debut on AEW television on Dynamite and will likely continue to do so until Tony Khan, Excalibur, or an on-roster talent officially makes an announcement one way or another.

Though Trent Beretta and his Best Friends stablemates appear to be the favorites to earn the honor, as they have been feuding for a few weeks both in AEW and via a Jeff Cobb/Great-O-Khan call out at NJPW's Dominion, Ospreay is set to make his singles debut in the promotion Dax Harwood on Dynamite, and that could swerve the angle in a number of ways.

But who does noted Ospreay superfan Dave Meltzer wants to see the NJPW performer take on at the Pay-Per-View, when the Forbidden Door opens up in Chicago? Well, thanks to a fan on Twitter, we now have two answers worth consideration both by fantasy bookers and TK himself: Darby Allin and Jungle Boy.

Will either of Dave Meltzer's favorites face off against Will Ospreay in an AEW ring?

Neither Darby Allin nor Jungle Boy has ever wrestled a match, at least according to Cagematch, in Japan, the country or New Japan, the wrestling promotion, for that matter, either. Neither have faced off against Tanahashi, Okada, or, outside of the rare NJPW competitor who traversed the world to land in AEW like Hikuleo, any of the promotion's biggest stars and, considering their status within the company, that probably isn't going to change any time soon.

And yet, thanks to the Forbidden Door Pay-Per-View neither of these performers could match their energetic style and western sensibilities against Will Ospreay, the well-traveled veteran who has captured championship gold across multiple promotions on multiple continents.

Of the duo, Darby Allin feels the more likely opponent for Ospreay, as he's currently feud-less as Sting recovers from injury, and Jungle Boy is still technically one of the promotion's tag team champions even if that could change as soon as this week's edition of Dynamite. Like Ospreay, Allin has a very dynamic style that captivates audiences with death-defying feats of athletic achievement and hard-hitting strikes. Allin's status as an undersized babyface would perfectly mesh with Ospreay's cocky heelish persona, and even if he were to take the L and do the job, a fantastic showing would do wonders for his overall status and appeal to the new eyes catching an AEW show for the first time.

Goodness, Allin's presentation alone should make him an intriguing performer in NJPW; factor in his in-ring mastery, and AEW could have a cross-promotional star on their hands.

Jungle Boy, too, could benefit from a match versus Ospreay as his in-ring work is incredibly compatible with Ospreay's style. The duo could exchange strikes, exchange fast-paced combination moves, and even go above the ropes for areal attacks on an equally-matched foe. Again, Ospreay would likely win, as he is the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion of NJPW, but adding another five-star match on Jungle Boy's resume could be valuable nonetheless, especially if he loses his belt to the Bucks.

Will it happen? Will Allin or Jungle Boy earn the nod against Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door, or does Tony Khan has something else up his sleeve? Hopefully, Dynamite provides more clarity on the subject.
