For fans of independent wrestling, there’s nothing more exciting than seeing their favorite plucky upstart appear on an episode of AEW Dark or AEW Dark Elevation.

Sure, the matches are never particularly long, and the indie star, even prominent ones, often take the L to middle-of-the-card AEW talents, but the pop in bedrooms, basements, and dorm rooms across the world when a performer like Cheeseburger, Tony Deppen, or Ally Katch stands opposite one of Tony Khan’s contracted wrestlers is special.

Fortunately, before the Wednesday, June 8th edition of Dynamite, fans in attendance at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Kansas City were greeted with a pair of Midwestern fan favorites in Warhorse and Dan the Dad, who wrestles as Danny Adams in AEW.

While fans at home won’t be able to see the match until presumably June 13th, when the next episode of AEW Dark Elevation is released on Youtube, when it eventually drops, folks will be able to see Dan the Dad and Warhorse, a pair of indie darling deliver an exemplary effort loaded featuring dad hats, head banging, and, presumably, a loss for the tag team no one knew we needed but will be the talk of the town for the next week or see at the hands of 2.0.

All in all, that brings the combined records of Horse and Dad to 0-4, with losses to Powerhouse Hobbs, Andrade El Idolo, and Cody Rhodes also on their resume. Will the tides turn in the duo’s favor at some point in the future? Maybe so, but hey, at this point, the more fans who see indie stars like Dan the Dad, Warhorse, and Max the Impaler – who was also on the show – the better.
