After setting off his version of a pipebomb at AEW‘s Los Angeles debut at the “Fabulous” Kia Forum, MJF has reportedly taken a liking to the City of Angels and has begun to peruse opportunities outside of the squared circle in Tinseltown.

That's right, according to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, MJF opted to stay a little longer in Southern California than the rest of his AEW roster mates, with his sights set on exploring potential on-screen ventures that can't be removed by Warner Brothers Discovery+ execs who are uncomfortable with his, shall we say, abrasive style.

Hollywood MJF? Goodness, that has a weird ring to it indeed.

You see, the connection between Hollywood and professional wrestling runs deep. WrestleMania's 2, VII, XII, 2000, 21, and 31 all took place in Los Angeles, and WrestleMania 39 is slated for the city as well in 2023. There's also a time-honored tradition of wrestlers “going Hollywood,” i.e. abandoning the fans and going into business for themselves on the silver screen. This strategy has been deployed most notably by Hulk Hogan and The Rock, arguably the two biggest stars to ever do it, and has been thrown at wrestlers like Cody Rhodes as an insult for letting their out-of-ring ventures negatively affect their wrestling schedules.

Considering MJF's current status on television, status backstage, and status as the biggest heel in all of wrestling, turning his attention to Hollywood, either as a work, a shoot, or a combination of the two should serve as fodder among the AEW fanbase and keep his name in the headlines indefinitely.
