Novak Djokovic's vaccine stance single-handedly kept him from participating in the Australian Open. Naturally, there was an outpouring of reactions to the Serbian star's decision-making, as some criticized him while others offered their support. Fellow ATP Tour star Andy Murray got brutally honest when discussing Djokovic and his vaccine stance, via Fox Sports.

“I think it would be a lot easier for him obviously if he was to get vaccinated,” Murray said after also making the second round in Dubai after a three-set win over Christopher O’Connell.

“But I also didn’t like seeing him in the situation that he was in Australia as someone that I respect, have known since I was a child.

“There are consequences to the decisions he’s made just now. He obviously has to accept that. But I don’t think it’s great for tennis if our best player is not competing in the major events.”

Andy Murray didn't mince words. He feels that Novak Djokovic's vaccine stance is, clearly, making things more difficult than they need to be for the Serbian native.

Murray acknowledged that Djokovic has to accept the consequences of his decisions, though he said he “didn't like” seeing Djokovic, who he has known since the two were children, in the situation he was in in Australia.

Murray finished by saying that he doesn't think it's good for tennis if “the best player is not competing in the major events.”

Murray has a point there, as tennis certainly isn't at its best when Djokovic is unable to compete. However, he also knows that the Serbian star was unable to compete as a result of his own choices.
