The New Orleans Pelicans are already missing two of their three best players when Anthony Davis made it 3-for-3 in the team’s exhibition game in China.
Davis suffered a right ankle sprain against the Houston Rockets and got everyone in New Orleans praying for non-tragic news.
According to reports, the three-time All-Star will be out of action for 10-14 days. This is good news as the injury isn’t any worse and Davis’ availability for the team’s season opener is looking more positive by the day.
The prognosis for Davis raises the prospects that he'll either return in time for New Orleans' regular-season opener on Oct. 26 against visiting Denver, or shortly afterward. New Orleans plays three games in the first week of the regular season, including a home contest against Golden State on Oct. 28 and a game at San Antonio on Oct. 29.
Anthony Davis will carry a lot of load on his shoulders when the 2016-2017 campaign begins due to the absence of Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday. The 6-foot-10 power forward will also look to bounce back from his previous year which was, ironically, marred by an injury.
