On the heels of snapping their 14-game losing streak following the win over the Boston Red Sox on Thursday, the Los Angeles Angels have now received more much-needed good news.

The Angels officially activated Anthony Rendon off of the 10-day injured list on Friday. Rendon had been sidelined as of late due to right wrist inflammation, but he will now be eligible to feature in the Angels’ upcoming three-game home series against the New York Mets.

Rendon was placed on the IL by now-former Angels manager Joe Maddon on May 28 ahead of the team’s home contest against the Toronto Blue Jays. This move came after his nagging wrist ailment “flared up” during the May 27 clash with the AL East side.

Rendon had since made notable progress in his injury rehab. During the Angels’ four-game home series with the Red Sox this past week, the veteran third baseman not only took part in defensive activities but was also able to hit the batting cages.

On Friday, Rendon once again featured in on-field baseball activities, which included throwing the baseball and taking grounders. And after a talk with Angels interim manager Phil Nevin, the decision was made to bring him off of the injured list.

In Rendon’s absence, the Angels rolled out Tyler Wade, Matt Duffy and Jack Mayfield to cover third base. Now, the one-time All-Star is slated to patrol the left side of the infield for the series with the current NL East leaders.

Rendon has so far played in 41 contests this season, where he has recorded 23 RBI to go along with a .335 OBP.
