Electronic Arts will be releasing five cosmetics packages for fans to purchase in-game. The limited-time exclusives will partly fund the Apex Legends Global Series Championship prize pool.

Apex Legends Global Series Championship prize pool may rise to $3 million

EA knows that following the industry's best practices will be best for business. As such, they will be crowdfunding the Apex Legends Global Series Championship prize pool, similar to how Valve has been doing for years with their Dota 2 The International. However, unlike Valve, EA will be setting a cap on how much the prize pool can grow. With the fans helping, the ALGS prize pool can grow by up to $3,000,000.

Fans can pitch into the ALGS prize pool by purchasing some limited-time cosmetic packages. The packages will be available to purchase in Apex Legends from May 18 to June 1. The cosmetics offered here are all Legendary rarity cosmetics, and can only be obtained exclusively through this sale. Four of the packages contain one Legendary skin, an Epic Banner, and an Epic Gun Charm each. The fifth package, named Animal Kingdom, contains all of the four packages in one complete collection.

The bundles are as follows: Mechameleon for Pathfinder, Boared to Death for Fuse, Wild Speed for Octane, and Silverback for Caustic. Each one of these four packages will be 2,500 Apex Coins each. Meanwhile, the Animal Kingdom package will be purchasable for 9,000 Apex Coins. According to EA, each sale of one of the four packages will add $5 to the Apex Legends Championship prize pool. Meanwhile, $20 will be added for each Animal Kingdom package they sell.

The Apex Legends Global Series Championship will run from May 22 to June 13, 2021. Fans can watch the matches from the official Apex Legends Twitch and Youtube channels. Currently, the ALGS only has the Battle Royale competitive mode, but we can imagine future events to also feature Arena.
