Apex Legends: Escape only released on Tuesday, yet players are already calling for nerfs to Ash, the newest legend to arrive in the game. Season 11 just begun, and everyone has been excited to play Ash. According to the community, though, her kit seems quite overtuned. A developer has since responded—read on to find out what he said about possible nerfs.

With the new season launching, it comes as no surprise that players across all ranks wanted to test out the new legend and her abilities. The Apex Legends community had already been raving about Ash ever since her kit was revealed, bridging formidable offense with interesting strategies.

Her Arc Snare tactical ability brings a form of crowd control, slowing an enemy down, while her ultimate called Phase Breach tears open a one-way portal to help Ash and team reposition on the map. (For a more in-depth look at Ash gameplay, check out our guide!)

But the real deal-breaker, players are saying, is Ash's passive ability, Marked for Death. It serves as an intelligence ability that allows players to see wherever fights break out on the map. Moreover, it tags any enemies that survived in those deathboxes. From casual players to pro gamers, the Apex Legends community did not even take a full day to judge Ash's passive as OP—and urged nerfs ASAP.

Cloud9's Jamison “PVPX” Moore, for example, tweeted out that Ash's “map room passive needed nerfs,” although her tactical and ult were balanced “for now.” Christian “Nokokopuffs” Feliciano from TSM similarly described Marked for Death as “map room on steroids.” For him, seeing fights explode all over the battlefield gives “way too much information.”

“[Ash's passive shows] timers with exactly how many people are dying with their exact location. [It] completely defeats the purpose of a bigger map,” Nokokopuffs tweeted.

His tweet came in response to another complaint about the ability, this time from 100 Thieves' Jack “NiceWigg” Martin. He said that Ash “single-handedly” reduces the number of teams left on the huge Storm Point map by round two. It could “ruin this ranked split” if her passive is kept as is.

Apex Legends developer Josh Medina, however, responded indirectly to these calls for Ash nerfs. It seems that Respawn may not be looking at any big balance changes just yet. After all, to be fair, Season 11 has been live for only a day. But the dev team do seem well-aware of the complaints coming in.

“It's been eight hours, so let's take it [easy] on what needs to change ASAP (looking at you Ash passive),” Medina wrote in a tweet.

Whether the situation requires a hotfix in the coming days will be at the top of everyone's minds, though, as Ash continues to tear through the ranks.
