Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has officially left Arsenal and became a Barcelona player after both sides mutually agreed to terminate his contract in North London. It was a rocky exit for the striker though, who evidently fell out of favor under Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

Aubameyang was stripped of his captaincy in December and was basically axed from Arsenal's plans since. While he was initially just going to go on loan to Barca, the club decided to end his deal and let the Gabon international leave for good. Following the saga, Aubameyang has essentially blamed Arteta for how everything went down.

Via Goal:

You really can't blame him for thinking that. After all, it was the Spaniard's choice to not play the frontman. He hadn't featured in a game for the Gunners since December 6th before sealing his move to Spain.

Aubameyang's Arsenal tenure might've ended on bad terms, but he was nothing short of spectacular in his four-year tenure at the Emirates, scoring 92 times in 163 appearances and winning an FA Cup in 2020. Arteta's strike options are certainly scarce now though, with no clear N0. 9 option up top. But, it was well-known that the Spaniard no longer wanted Aubameyang around. He's got his wish now.
